Use the planting for food produce to feed inmates of our prisons: Kirk Mensah dares Government.

The Western Regional Communications Officer of the main opposition party, National Democratic Congress(NDC) has challenged the government to use produce from the over hyped ‘PLANTING FOR FOOD’ progra to feed inmates of the country’s prisons to prove that it is really working.
Inmates of Sekondi Central Prisons on Monday, 24/05/2021 embarked on a hunger strike and demonstration to protest over poor quality and quantity of meals served them.
Contributing to a discussion on the issue on Kyzz Fm morning show, the NDC’s Communications head for the Western Region, Richard Stephen Kirk-Mensah junior challenged the NPP led government to take the grievances of the inmates serious. He dared the government to prove that the planting for food program is yielding the expected result and that there is abundance of food as being claimed by propagandists of the ruling party by sending some of the produce to the prisons to feed the inmates.
According to Kirk-Mensah, the NPP is only good in talking big, and on paper ideas but very bankrupt when it comes to implementation
He further called for a total transformation of the country’s prison system, saying the current system instead of reforming inmates rather turns to harden them because of conditions at the country’s prisons. Richard Kirk-Mensah ended his contribution by urging all to take the call by the inmates serious since every one is a potential guest of the prison.
