Ato Forson hints at first-week November date for 2027 Budget

Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has hinted that the 2027 Budget Statement and Economic Policy will be presented to Parliament in the first week of November 2026, as government intensifies preparations for the next fiscal programme.

Dr Ato Forson disclosed the expected timeline in an interview with Ahenfia FM in Kumasi, where he also outlined some of the key priorities expected to feature in the 2027 Budget.

According to the Finance Minister, the budget will set out government’s plans for major infrastructure projects alongside policy initiatives aimed at creating more jobs.

He said the government was also preparing fresh incentives to support businesses and help them expand into new areas.

The proposed measures are expected to form part of government’s broader economic programme for 2027, with emphasis on supporting private-sector activity and creating opportunities for business expansion.

Dr Ato Forson’s comments provide an early indication of the government’s priorities ahead of the formal budget presentation, which will set out its detailed revenue, expenditure and policy proposals for the 2027 fiscal year.

The planned November presentation will also give businesses and investors an opportunity to assess the government’s policy direction and adjust their plans ahead of the new fiscal year.
