Barcelona Agree Deal To Sign Gabriel Jesus From Arsenal for €10m

Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.

The HERE WE GO is on — Arsenal and Barcelona have reached full agreement for the 29-year-old striker to move to Camp Nou for €10 million plus add-ons.

According to Romano, advanced talks over the weekend led to a breakthrough on Sunday afternoon. Jesus is now set to become Barcelona's new number nine.

Barcelona pivoted to Jesus after their pursuit of Julian Alvarez collapsed. The Catalan giants needed a low-cost, experienced number nine and Jesus became available after dropping down Mikel Arteta's pecking order.

Jesus has scored just 4 goals in 23 appearances (8 starts) in all competitions this season for Arsenal, having struggled with injuries. The arrival of Viktor Gyokeres — who has 18 goals this term — and the return of Kai Havertz pushed him to third-choice.

Arsenal initially demanded £20-25M according to The Athletic, but with Jesus entering the final year of his contract (expires June 2027), they accepted a reduced fee of €10M + add-ons.

Jesus is on £265,000-per-week at Arsenal. His departure will free up huge wages for the Gunners' final push before the September 1st deadline.

He joined Arsenal in July 2022 for £45M from Manchester City and has 74 goals in 167 appearances for the club. He was part of the title-winning squads and previously won 4 Premier League titles at City.

The Brazilian changed agent at the start of 2026 to assess his future. As Romano said in April: "He wants to fight for titles, then in the summer the possibility for his exit could become concrete."

Flamengo had pushed for a loan, but Jesus wanted to stay in top European football. Palmeiras, Everton and AC Milan also enquired.

Medical is expected in Barcelona in the next 24 hours. Official announcement to follow.
