Harry Kane and Bayern Munich Open Talks Over New Contract

Harry Kane is keen to extend his stay at Bayern Munich, with the England captain and his representatives now in talks with the German champions over a new contract.

Kane, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, has two years remaining on his current deal, which runs until June 30, 2027. However, his impressive spell in Bavaria has prompted both player and club to explore an extension.

The proposed new agreement is expected to keep Kane at Bayern until at least 2029, although discussions could ultimately result in a contract running through either 2028 or 2029.

Bayern ready to keep Kane

Kane's representatives, including his father Pat Kane and brother Charlie Kane, have been involved in discussions with Bayern as the two sides work towards a longer-term agreement.

The German giants are expected to offer Kane a minimum two-year extension, reflecting his importance to the club and his continued role as one of Europe's leading strikers.

There is also reportedly no expectation that Kane will take a pay cut.

The 32-year-old currently earns around €25 million per year and is expected to remain on a similar salary under the proposed extension.

Bayern confident of agreement

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that negotiations with Kane are underway, although he stressed that a final decision will have to be made at some point.

“We’re talking to Harry, we’re talking. Everyone knows at some point a decision has to be made,” Eberl said.

Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen has also expressed confidence that Kane is happy with life at the club.

Dreesen believes the striker's relationship with Bayern provides a strong foundation for reaching an agreement.

“He has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable,” Dreesen said.

Formal negotiations are expected to intensify after Bayern return from their Asian tour, with Dreesen and Eberl leading the club's side of the discussions.

Kane's Bayern chapter continues

Kane's move to Bayern was viewed as a major change in his career after he spent almost two decades in Tottenham's senior setup.

The England captain has since established himself as a key figure in Munich, combining his goalscoring ability with his experience and leadership.

His desire to remain in Bavaria would be a significant boost for Bayern as they seek to maintain their status among Europe's elite.

For Kane, a new contract would also provide long-term certainty at a club where he appears increasingly settled.

With both parties keen to continue their relationship, negotiations now look set to determine how long the prolific striker's Bayern adventure will last.

If an agreement is reached, Kane could remain in Munich until 2029, extending what has already become a significant chapter of his illustrious career.
