NDC Internal Reorganization on Course as Branch Elections Record about 450,000 Participation – Maadi Jebril

The NDC says its internal reorganization is progressing steadily, with more than 450,000 members contesting branch executive positions nationwide. Elections director Maadi Jebril Mohammed says the peaceful exercise is strengthening the party's grassroot structures and internal democracy

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says its nationwide internal reorganization is progressing successfully, with the ongoing branch executive elections recording high participation across the country.

Speaking on the KYZZ Morning Show with Kwame Baah, the Party’s Country Director for Elections, Maadi Jebril Mohammed, said the exercise, which began about seven months ago, has been peaceful, transparent and well-organized.

He explained that the branch executive elections are the first stage of the NDC’s four-tier internal electoral process and will be followed by constituency, regional and national executive elections. He added that the party is considering extending the branch elections by two days to resolve outstanding issues in some areas.

He stressed that the NDC remains committed to conducting free, fair and transparent internal elections, allowing qualified members to contest and delegates to elect leaders without interference.
