NPP Western Region Elects New Regional Officers

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western Region has elected a new crop of regional officers following a keenly contested regional election.

Ignatius Kwasi Africa emerged as the Regional Chairman after securing 265 votes, defeating Abdul Ganiu, who polled 102 votes. One ballot was rejected.


For the position of 1st Vice Chairman, Ignatius Asaah Mensah won with 204 votes, beating James Obeng Jnr, who obtained 161 votes.

Francis Abeiku Yankah was elected 2nd Vice Chairman with 193 votes. He defeated Abena Kwallah, who polled 152 votes, and Monica Buadu, who secured 22 votes.


In the contest for Regional Secretary, Kwasi Bonzo emerged victorious with 211 votes, ahead of Okatakyie Amankwa Afrifa, who obtained 157 votes.


Alhaji Adam Harun Ahmed won the NASARA position with 190 votes, defeating Alhaji Labib Imam Ali, who received 177 votes. A second set of figures supplied for the NASARA contest also records Alhaji Adam Harun Ahmed as the winner with 187 votes against 177 for Alhaji Labib Imam Ali.


The Deputy Secretary race was won by Lawrence Kojo Appiah Takyi, who polled 157 votes. He was followed by Malick Haclik Botchwey with 106 votes, Thomas Amoah with 80 votes and Anthony Annor with 26 votes.


Amoabeng Owusu Acheampong secured the Regional Organiser position with 181 votes, defeating Frederick Korankye, who obtained 143 votes, and Simon Amoah, who polled 44 votes.


The Women Organiser contest was won by Augustine Nketsiah, who received 193 votes, against Josephine Yaa Odoom's 173 votes. One ballot was rejected.


In the Youth Organiser race, Osagyefo Atiah Kwaw emerged the clear winner with 197 votes. Prince Kuntu-Blankson polled 100 votes, Boadi Augustine Minlah received 67, while Frederick Kumah obtained four votes.


Emmanuel Essah Acquah won the Western Regional Communication Officer position with 212 votes, defeating Issah Fuseini, who polled 152 votes, and David Ackah-Miezah, who secured three votes.


The Treasurer position went to Nana Adjoa Appiah, who recorded 262 votes against James Asiedu Kainyiah's 160 votes.


The results give the newly elected regional leadership a fresh mandate to steer the party's affairs in the Western Region and strengthen its organisational structures ahead of the NPP's future political engagements.


The election featured competitive contests across several positions, with a number of candidates securing decisive victories while others won relatively close races.
