Takoradi Amanful Residents Appeal for Urgent Action Over Refuse, Choked Drains and a full skip container
Residents of Amanful, a suburb of Takoradi are appealing to the authorities to urgently address the growing refuse problem in the community, warning of worsening sanitation conditions and a potential flooding risk.
Heaps of rubbish have been left at various locations, while a deteriorating skip container in the area reportedly remains full for extended periods without being emptied.
Residents say the situation has created a severe stench, making parts of the community unpleasant and raising concerns about possible health risks.
The refuse has also accumulated in some gutters, leaving sections of the drainage system choked.
Residents fear that the blocked drains could worsen flooding during periods of heavy rainfall, as rainwater may be unable to flow freely through the affected areas.
They are therefore calling on the relevant authorities and waste management service providers to clear the accumulated refuse, replace or repair the deteriorating skip container and ensure regular collection.
Residents say prompt action is needed to restore sanitation in the community and prevent the situation from becoming a more serious public health and flooding concern.
